Terms of Service

- Agreement to Terms
United Regions Van Lines (“we,” “our,” or “the Company”) provides professional moving and storage services subject to your compliance with these Terms of Service (“Terms”). By using our services or booking a move, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms without prior notice. Continued use of our services after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.
- Eligibility & Customer Obligations
You must be at least 18 years of age to contract for moving services.
You must provide accurate information about your move, including addresses, inventory, and dates.
You are responsible for notifying us of any material changes to your move (dates, inventory, access, etc.) at least 72 hours before the scheduled pickup.
- Payment Terms
Security Deposit and Payment Schedule:
A non-refundable security deposit is due at booking to reserve your moving date.
60% of the remaining balance is due at pickup. Accepted payment methods include: cash, postal money order, or bank deposit.
Final balance is due in full at delivery prior to unloading, by cash or postal money order only.
Returned Check Policy:
We do not accept personal checks unless 7+ business days separate pickup and delivery.
Returned checks will incur a $50 NSF fee, and balance must be paid via direct deposit or wire transfer before delivery is scheduled.
- Cancellation & Refund Policy
Deposits are fully refundable only if cancellation is made in writing to cancel@unitedregionsvanlines.com at least 7 business days prior to the first scheduled service date (excluding weekends and holidays).
Cancellations within 7 business days:
If the truck has not arrived: deposit is credited for future use within 12 months.
If the truck has arrived: no refund or credit is provided.
- Binding Estimate & Pricing Disclosures
Estimates are binding-not-to-exceed based on cubic footage (CF).
You will be billed at the same CF rate if your actual volume is higher or lower than estimated, unless a minimum volume or space reservation was agreed upon.
Estimate includes:
Disassembly/reassembly of basic furniture
Use of moving blankets, straps, and pads
First flight of stairs (up to 7 steps)
Mileage, tolls, and basic liability coverage ($0.60/lb/article)
Additional charges may apply for:
Elevator access ($75 per stop)
Additional flights of stairs ($75 per flight after the first)
Long carry (over 75 feet: $75 per additional 75 ft)
Bulky items (e.g., treadmills, elliptical machines, pianos, etc.)
Full packing or crating services
Special handling of fragile, glass, marble, or oversized items
Storage beyond 7 days: $0.50 per CF per 30-day cycle (non-prorated)
- Delivery Timeline and Expedited Service
Standard delivery window: 0–17 business days.
Expedited delivery option available for $1.00/CF (excludes certain states).
Expedited delivery terms:
If missed by 1st window (3 days): 50% refund of expedited charge.
If missed by 2nd window (6 days): 100% refund.
Requires 60% of balance paid on time or expedited schedule may be voided.
- Valuation Coverage and Liability
Standard coverage is $0.60 per lb per article.
Full Value Protection is optional and available upon request.
Coverage options and premiums will be outlined in your contract. You will select the level of protection on your Bill of Lading.
- Excluded Items & Policies
The following are prohibited: liquids, perishables, flammables, medications, personal documents, and jewelry.
Plastic bags are not permitted. Items must be packed in sealed boxes or containers.
Dressers must be empty prior to transport.
Movers may refuse to transport any items packed improperly or in violation of safety policies.
- Storage Policy
Up to 7 days of complimentary Storage in Transit (SIT) is included.
Additional storage will be billed at $0.50/CF/month, not prorated.
Late payments for storage will incur $0.15/CF late fee.
- Dispute Resolution / Arbitration
Disputes may be resolved via neutral arbitration with Claims Services International, Inc.
Arbitration:
Binding once chosen
May be conducted via written brief or telephone
Costs are split: each party covers 50% of arbitrator fees and 100% of their own legal costs
Arbitration is governed exclusively by U.S. Federal Law.
- Jurisdiction & Governing Law
Legal claims must be brought in Broward County, Florida.
You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of Florida courts and waive any right to be served within the state.
- Use of Services
You may not use our services to transport unlawful, dangerous, or stolen items.
You agree not to delay payment or dispute charges in bad faith.
If payment delays occur, delivery will be postponed and adjusted accordingly.
- Limitation of Liability
We are not responsible for:
Damage to items packed by the customer
Items left in dressers or non-compliant containers
Delays due to weather, traffic, mechanical failure, or force majeure
Maximum liability is capped at the selected valuation level.
- Entire Agreement
These Terms, combined with your signed estimate, Bill of Lading, and our Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and United Regions Van Lines.
